Ukraine is fully supplied with vaccines for children for the first time in seven years. Ulana Suprun, Acting Minister of Health claimed this to reporters in the lobby of the Cabinet of Ministers. 112 Ukraine was broadcasting the session.
Ukraine is fully supplied with vaccines for the planned vaccination of children for the first time in seven years. Also, we have purchased additional vaccines for adults because there is an outbreak of the measles. There are adults who have never been vaccinated till now. The vaccine is more for people who are under a high risk: teachers, health personnel. Also, we have vaccines for children who haven’t been vaccinated for the last seven years,’ she said.
Volodymyr Groysman, the PM pointed out today at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers that current epidemics are breaking out because of the shortage of vaccines five-seven years ago.
‘Vaccines are now available for immunization of a child. We need to be back at it due to the epidemics we have today. The epidemics came out because people weren’t vaccinated in time,’ he said.
Reportedly, Ukraine has updated the preventive immunizations schedule for children. Children will be vaccinated against tuberculosis ones for three-five days of life. Revaccination at seven years is not needed anymore.
As it was reported earlier, Ukraine has lifted the ban on Bulgarian BCG vaccine.
