President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the country is on the verge of a second wave, so it is worth paying more attention to security measures and lockdown rules. He stated this at a traditional conference call, as the press service of the President's Office reports.
"The head of state noted that on August 13, 1732 citizens were confirmed to have coronavirus disease in Ukraine. Such figures and the number of hospitalized people indicate that the country is on the verge of a second wave," the statement said.
In this regard, he turned to the officials and heads of regional state administrations with an order to convey to the population the importance of taking personal protection measures, observing quarantine rules: minimizing visits to crowded places, visits to mass events.
As we reported before, in Ukraine, 1,732 new cases of coronavirus infection observed.
Totally, 87,872 got infected with Covid-19 since the beginning of pandemic; 46,797 patients recovered, while 2,011 died from the complications. 39,064 people are still infected.
