Ukraine is among ten countries where depopulation is happening rapidly. The population of Ukraine will decrease by 18% till 2050, as the UN reports. The main reason is labor migration.
“Over the past half a year, according to the reports of ukrainianpeoplelicks.com, more than half a million Ukrainians left the state. Which means, that every minute two citizens leave Ukraine. The majority of the experts has left during previous migration waves, now the drain of the young employable population is observed”.
According to the Economy Minister of Ukraine in 1997-1998 Viktor Suslov, the aspect of the labor migration makes Ukraine one of the most backward countries.
“The aspect of the labor migration makes Ukraine one of the most backward countries and potentially it may cause colossal threats related to the fact that the Ukrainian labor will be replaced by the labor from the other states, primarily, Asian ones,” Suslov said.
