On January 30 and February 3, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) will operate flights from the Chinese city of Sanya to evacuate Ukrainian tourists due to the spread of a new type of coronavirus. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing UIA’s press service.
According to the airline press-office, two empty planes will fly to the Chinese city.
"They had a tour. They went on vacation. Two empty planes will fly to pick them up. An empty Kyiv-Sanya plane will fly there, and it will already be filled with tourists on its way back to Kyiv," the press service said.
UIA added that the last flight to China is scheduled for February 3. Thereafter, the flights will not be operated in one direction or in the opposite direction.
As we reported earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) does not recommend evacuating foreign citizens due to the massive spread of the coronavirus, Xinhuanet agency informed.
"We have noted that some countries have expressed their desire to withdraw citizens of China, and WHO does not advocate this. In the current situation, we should remain calm and there is no need to overreact. WHO is confident in the Chinese government's ability to prevent and control the epidemic," the statement said.
