Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry expects that a batch of tests for coronavirus detection will be supplied next week. Director-General of the Center for Public Health of Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry Ihor Kuzin said this, as quoted by UNN news agency.
"The negotiations on supplying (...) the sets to define the RNA of the new virus are underway, and we hope that we will be able to get these sets next week or a week after that, and run the diagnostics on the national level in the reference labs of the Center for Public Health.
One set provides 100 tests - three per person. The diagnostic sets will let 120 people be tested for coronavirus.
Kuzin admitted that the Ukrainian side already agreed on the supply of four equipment sets. No information is yet available about the country that would supply these tests.
Previously, there were four cases of suspected Chinese coronavirus in Ukraine; however, all four cases appeared to be either influenza A or B.
Earlier, Kyiv city hall reported that not a single case of Chinese coronavirus was observed in the Ukrainian capital.
