On Thursday, September 23, an evacuation plane with about 100 citizens on board took off from Kabul airport; the press service of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that on September 26.
“Negotiations were successful this morning and a civilian plane took off from Kabul airport. There are about 100 people on board. The plane with the evacuated citizens is expected to arrive in Kyiv within 24 hours,” the statement reads.
The agency noted that the plane was able to take off after successful international negotiations. Representatives of Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar and Afghanistan took an active part in them. However, citizens of which countries are on the plane the department does not specify.
As it was reported earlier, on September 8, Oleksiy Arestovych, the adviser to the head of the President's Office and speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the trilateral contact group said that Ukraine was preparing a camp to receive 5,000 Afghan refugees.
