Luch construction bureau develops its own strike drone called Sokil-200. Chief Constructor Oleg Korostelyov said this in a interview with Security Talks.
The makeshift will be presented at the International Exhibition "Zbroya ta Bezpeka 2020 (Weaponry and Safety)", which is to take place in Kyiv soon.
The UAV can carry up to 250 kilograms of payload - for example, four Barrier anti-tank missiles developed and produced by Luch construction bureau.
Currently, the constructors already tested and approved 85 percent of systems and equipment for the new drone. That includes optical electronic lock-on station and payload storages that are now used for helicopters, as well as different sysems of flight control, engine power system, and the equipment tested on Neptune anti-ship missile.
Chief Constructor claims that first test flights can be performed nine months after the works began. It can be approved for use by the military one and a half years later.
