Witin the next two weeks, Ukraine can become first among big European countries in terms of the death rate from coronavirus infection. Yuriy Ganichenko, the chairman of Centre for Healthcare Economy of Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) said so during the press briefing in Kyiv. Interfax-Ukraine news agency quoted him as saying.
According to him, currently, Ukraine comes second among European countries with population over 10 million people (13.6 fatalities in 14 days per 100,000 citizens). "At the same time, Ukraine can make it to the second place within the next two weeks. At that, the level of death rate slowly declines", he said.
Ganichenko added that the morbidity rate in Ukraine keeps falling.
"The decline of morbidity level in Ukraine speeds up, and yet it's not the ultimate exit from this wave of morbidity. We expect it to keep falling after the Easter, but at a slower rate", he said.
