Ukraine assigns funds to purchase Remdesivir to treat Covid-19

Ukraine's Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov

Ukraine's government issued costs to purchase Remdesivir, the drug that could be used to treat coronavirus. Maksym Stepanov, the Healthcare Minister said so at a briefing.

"Yesterday, the government passed the decree to allocate funds to buy Remdesivir. This is a drug that is currenty not registered in Ukraine, but the law lets us bring it here", the official said.

The sum of the deal is not disclosed.

Remdesivir is a synthetic anti-viral drug that was initially developed for struggle against the Ebola. The drug is recommended for treatment of patients who suffer from Covid-19 symptoms.
