Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov and the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey Mukhterem Inje signed an Agreement on the mutual recognition of driving licenses between the countries, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
The Mutual Recognition Agreement stipulates that Ukrainian citizens who legally reside in Turkey and Turks who legally reside in our country will be able to exchange their national driver’s licenses for similar documents in their country of residence.
It is expected that the new rules will start working in six months.
Avakov stressed that the Agreement on the mutual exchange of driver’s licenses is another proof of productive collaboration. The new Agreement provides an opportunity for Ukrainians who live in Turkey and Turks who live in Ukraine to exchange their national driver's licenses in a simplified manner - without having to re-take exams. This will also help avoid additional financial costs.
As we reported, Ukraine and Turkey have signed an agreement on military-financial cooperation. The signing took place during the Ukrainian-Turkish Business Forum, which was attended by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
