Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Zahorodniuk and Minister of National Defense of Romania Nicolae Ionel Ciucă discussed cooperation in the context of the security of the Black Sea region. The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported that.
"Today, February 14, as part of the participation in the Munich security sphere of the conference, Minister of Defense Andriy Zahorodniuk met with Romanian Minister of National Defense Nicolae Ionel Ciucă. The parties focused on security in the Black Sea region. Andriy Zahorodniuk noted the importance of military-level cooperation - sea forces and strengthening joint work with partners in the East European region to ensure stability in the Black Sea," says the statement.
It is indicated that among the areas of cooperation is the upcoming signing of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Romania on military-technical cooperation, as well as the exchange of information on the air and sea situation.
"Also during the meeting, participants expressed concern about the destabilizing actions of the Russian Federation in the Black and Azov Seas, as well as about the further militarization of the Crimean Peninsula that is occupied by Russia," the statement said.
In addition, the ministers emphasized the need for continued bilateral cooperation, participation in joint multinational exercises and continued cooperation in the framework of the activities of the multinational engineering battalion "Tisa".
As we reported, the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will participate in the renewed mission of NATO in Iraq.
