Ukraine will be able to receive a vaccine against coronavirus approximately in the period from April 2022 to the end of 2023. This is reported by The Economist on its Twitter page.
"Rich countries will be the first to gain access to coronavirus vaccines, and for poorer countries, the waiting period will last until 2024," the statement informs.
According to the published map, Ukraine is among the group of countries that will receive the vaccine last - between April 2022 and the end of 2023.
Also according to the tracking of signed contracts with the largest manufacturers, which is published by Bloomberg, the vaccine will be unevenly distributed and it may happen that the rich countries get triple doses and the poor ones -nothing.
Russia plans to vaccinate 80 million people; Canada signed a contract for 154 million doses; Australia has twice as many vaccines under contracts as the population requires.
Ukraine, according to the signed contracts, has the opportunity to receive vaccines for immunization of 2.1 million people, which is 5% of the total population.
As we reported earlier, an influential Food and Drug Administration advisory panel overwhelmingly endorsed the emergency use of Moderna Inc's Covid-19 vaccine.
The decision now gives the FDA the ability to soon approve the drug in the United States. It is assumed that the FDA may make this decision as early as Friday
