It is also reported that during the period from January to April the country imported 3,500 tons of pork worth 7.2 million dollars, which is 2.6 times less in physical terms and 2.3 times less in foreign currency than for the same period in 2019.
The association clarified that the April increase in revenues to the domestic market was perceived as an intensification. However, if we extend the observation period, such a change no longer looks critical.
"Approximately the same amount of imported pork was purchased by domestic meat processors in January and February. In addition, such a revival of imported activity in April is not observed the first time: a similar situation took place in April 2018," the statement said.
As we reported earlier, on April 3, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers approved the decree, according to which the export of buckwheat will be forbidden until July 1, 2020.
