UKE, the documentary about hockey legends of Ukrainian origin

The documentary UKE, The Untold Story of Hockey Legends that tells about winners of the Stanley Cup of Ukrainian origin was released on Apple TV+.

According to the State Film Agency of Ukraine, the movie can be seen in 72 world countries.

It is the story about the prominent stars who formed the most famous hockey league in the world – the NHL. The shooting took place for three years in Canada, the USA, Belarus, and Ukraine. The director and producer of the film is Volodymyr Mula.

“I am sure; the domestic product can compete for the attention of the audience at the world market. We just need to cultivate this culture for the Ukrainian producer. Thanks to recognizable heroes and English localization of the movie, we succeeded to cover an unbelievable number of territories. Showing that with great desire and restricted budget it is possible to do cool things,” the director said.

The movie tells about such legends of the National Hockey League as Wayne Gretzky, Terry Sawchuk, Ruslan Fedotenko, and others. The movie was recognized as the main Ukrainian sports media event of the year and it became the top-grossing documentary of Ukraine.

Earlier, the movie was released on Amazon Prime Video.
