He also noted that the UK has a good start to the vaccination program. Vaccinations in the country are made with the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine.
Vaccination against coronavirus in UK began on December 8, 2020. Doctors and people over 80 are the first to be vaccinated in the country.
According to the Worldometer, 1,888,116 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the UK.
Meanwhile, the human medicines committee of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) will consider granting a permit for the use of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by BioNTech and Pfizer in the EU on December 21.
"An exceptional meeting of the CHMP has now been scheduled for December 21 to conclude if possible," the statement said.
At the same time, it was noted that the meeting planned for December 29 would be maintained if needed.
