Ukraine International Airlines has established a laboratory to conduct Covid-19 testing at Boryspil International Airport. This was announced by President of Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) Yevhen Dykhne on Facebook.
“We have set up the first laboratory at Boryspil Airport to perform PCR and antibody tests, and we will be using it to test UIA crews for some time. We want to be 100% sure that our crews and passengers are in completely safe conditions, being on board of our aircrafts," Dykhne wrote.
He also noted that the laboratory provided an option for urgent PCR testing of a single sample for 40 minutes.
In addition, the laboratory will be able to meet the needs of both departing and arriving passengers.
"PCR today has the highest specificity and sensitivity in contrast to rapid tests. The material for analysis is a smear from the deep part of the throat, and the time of analysis is three minutes. It is capable of testing 96 samples simultaneously," UIA’s President added.
As we reported earlier, on June 17, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv International Airport (Zhuliany) received permission from the State Aviation Service to operate flights and resumed its operations.
