UIA returns over $41 million to passengers for canceled flights due to coronavirus

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) has returned more than $41 million to passengers for flights canceled due to the coronavirus since April 2020. This was reported on the company's website.

"UIA has returned more than $41 million to passengers for the entire year of its work in crisis conditions during the pandemic, from April 2020 till June 2021," the website says.

For the last reporting period in March-May of 2021, the airline reviewed and processed 39,000 requests, providing a refund of more than $9 million. Overall, for the 5 months of this year, UIA has processed 68,000 requests, having refunded about $20 million total.

The airline highlightі that passengers of canceled flights have several options to choose from: аree ticket change; кegistration of a personalised promo code for 125% of the paid amount, valid for 2 years from the date of its issuance. This option allows you to issue a new ticket by using the funds that have already been spent.

As it was reported earlier, Ukraine International Airlines Company (UIA) summarized work in 2020. According to the results from January until December, the company held about 17,000 regular flights and code-sharing flights and it is by 72% less than in 2019.
