"We have been working with local restaurants for over a year and have been providing a platform for convenient and reliable food delivery in Ukraine, and it has been very difficult for us to make a decision to cease activities of Uber Eats in this country starting from June 3, 2020. At this moment, the main thing for us is to minimize the consequences of closing the service for our employees, restaurants, courier partners and users," the company noted.
At the same time, the statement said that Uber's travel booking service Uber’s taxi service would continue operating.
As we reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers has decided to prolong lockdown in Ukraine until May 22.
"The lockdown will be extended until May 22. We will continue looking at how the situation with the pandemic will develop worldwide and how the things with fluctuation of the morbidity curve will go on," Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said.
