The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has approved the use of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus following Hungary as Strana reported.
The registration was held on fast-track procedure – without extra clinical studies in the territory of the state.
“The Russian Direct Investment Fund announces the approval of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V by the Ministry of Health and Prevention of the UAE. Sputnik V vaccine is registered in the UAE within fast-track procedure on the basis of the result of the third phase of the clinical trials in Russia with the participation of over 33,000 people,” the fund said.
Currently, the third phase of the clinical trials continues in the UAE under the control of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and Health Department of Abu Dhabi.
Currently, Sputnik V is registered in Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine, Venezuela, Hungary and the UAE.
As we reported, one of the leading Brazilian pharmaceutical companies - Uniao Quimica – has started the production of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus.
Besides, the immunological efficiency of EpiVacCorona, the second registered Russian vaccine against coronavirus makes 100 percent. That's the evaluation of Rospotrebnadzor, Russia's Federal Agency for Health and Consumer Rights.
