Two workers die in coal mine accident in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region

Two miners deceased during the works at a coal mine in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. One of the men was crushed against the wall; another one ended up under the assembly-line grinder. A criminal case was opened on this fact, as the local prosecutor's office reported.

The emergencies took place on June 12; the first one occurred at 2.20 p.m., and the other one at about 8.30 p.m. Both miners deceased.

A collapse of mine rock took place at Lisova coal mine in Lviv region, western Ukraine. Two mines who ended up under the debris lost their lives, as the mine rock collapsed at the depth of 242 meters. Reacting to the tragedy, President Volodymyr Zelensky called the session of Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council (NSDC), which considered the problems of the coal industry.
