Two Ukrainian movies “The House “Word”. Unfinished Novel” directed by Taras Tomenko and “Rhino” directed by Oleh Sentsov were selected for the international competition at the Warsaw Film Festival.
According to the Ukrainian state film agency, at the 37th Warsaw Film Festival, the “The House “Word”. Unfinished Novel” full-length live-action movie will have a world premiere.
“The House “Word”. Unfinished Novel” is a dramatic story of Ukrainian writers, who were gathered in one house, to force them to work in favor of the regime. The film tells about how the Communist heaven turns into the Communist hell.
Oleh Sentsov’s “Rhino” movie created in the co-production of Ukraine, Poland, and Germany, was presented for the first time at the Horizons program of the Venice Film Festival.
The story of the film is based on the real events of the 1990s. The main hero with the nickname “Rhino” starts off as a petty thief and quickly works his way up the criminal hierarchy.
The Warsaw Film Festival will take place on October 8-17, 2021.
As we reported, the debut short film by Ukrainian director Katya Tsarik Hold Me (Obiymy Mene) was shortlisted for the ARFF Amsterdam International Film Festival.
