Two Ukrainian films to be considered by Oscar 2021 organizers

The American Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences announced the list of full-length films due to be considered for the 93rd Oscar awards. There are two Ukrainian films on the list.

According to Ukraine's State Film Agency, these films are Atlantis by Valentyn Vasyanovych and The Earth is Blue As An Orange directed by Iryna Tsilyk. They were selected by the Ukrainian Oscar committee as the national contestant for Oscar in the Best Full-Length Film category. Films from 93 countries are included into this category. The overall list includes 238 positions.

The shortlist will be released on February 9, and the nominees for the awards are to be named on March 15. The 93rd Oscar awards ceremony is supposed to take place in Los Angeles on April 25.

Earlier, Atlantis joined the long list of the BAFTA awards. The awards ceremony is the annual event, the British analogue of Oscar. This edition's winners will be announced on April 11, 2021.
