A two-story residential house in Berdyansk, Zaporizhya region has been destroyed after the explosion thundered there. Two people were injured. Press office of the State Emergencies Service reported that the most likely cause of the incident was the gas explosion.
"The event occurred on September 21, at about 11 a.m. on the premises of a private house in Berdyansk", the message said.
Employees of the search and rescue team found out that the mixture of gas and air exploded without further ingnition.
The two-story house is demolished completely, and four adjacent houses were damaged.
Workers of the State Emergencies Service managed to dismantle the debris and saved the owner of the house. The 60-year-old man was hospitalized. A local passer-by was lightly wounded in the accident, too. The doctors examined him, and he refused from hospitalization.
Earlier, an explosion in the Ukrainian Carpathians killed two tourists and injured five others. According to preliminary information, a shell from the First World War was detonated by tourists as they tried to light the fire.
