Two peaks of the coronavirus infection are expected in Ukraine, as RBK-Ukraine reported citing Prime Minister Denys Shmygal.

According to him, one peak is expected at the end of April, another one in the period of time between May 3 and May 8.

“We do not know how severe they will be. But it is the predictions made by the National Academy of Sciences by calculation method with other unchanged conditions. In other words, under conditions that we see now,” Shmygal said.

Due to this fact, the Cabinet of Ministers plans to extend the quarantine until May 11 at least; however, some measures will be mitigated.

Thus, the government considers the mitigation of the terms of the obligatory observation.

The Healthcare Ministry of Ukraine will initiate the extension of the quarantine until May 12. Moreover, the ministry plans to offer the government to mitigate the quarantine measures in Ukraine.

Besides, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko stated that the peak of coronavirus is expected in two weeks in the capital. Then, the quarantine will be mitigated in Kyiv.
