Two girls were found dead in a rented apartment in Kyiv, in the Podil district. The press service of the national police reports.

"Today at 16:20 Podil police department received a message from a local resident that in the premises of her own apartment, which she rented out for the holidays, found two lifeless female bodies," police said on January 4.

Dead girls were found in one of the apartments on Kyrillivska Street. According to the Informant news agency, the landlady found their bodies in a closet on the balcony. The dead were tied, and all cut up with a sharp object. Dozens of knife wounds were counted on the dead. The police established their identities: these are Kyiv girls born in 2000 and 2003.

The last time the apartment was rented by a guy and a girl on December 31. They were supposed to evict on January 4, but on January 3, the guy who rented the apartment, via SMS, said that they would leave earlier.

On the fact of premeditated murder (Art. Part 2 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), criminal proceedings have been opened and a pre-trial investigation has begun.

The girls' bodies will be sent for a forensic examination to establish the ultimate cause of death. Law enforcement officers find out who could have committed the murder.

As we reported, December 26, Pereyaslav district court decided to pass the case on the murder of 5-year-old Kyrylo Tlyavov to another court as one of the judges has a conflict of interest.
