Two earthquakes in Zakarpattya region over day

Minor quakes took place in Irshavsky and Tyachivsky district, with magnitude of 2.3 and 1.1, respectively

Two earthquakes occurred in Ukraine's westernmost Zakarpattya region. The Main Centre for Special Control reported that on Friday.

The first quake took place in Tyachivsky district at 11.43 a.m., with the magnitude of 1.1 points. Later, at 4.19 p.m., another quake occurred in Irshavsky district; it was of 2.3-magnitude.

The sources of both earthquakes were located on the depth of five kilometers under the ground, and they are of no danger to civilian infrastructure. The Main Centre for Special Control admits the eathquakes of such magnitude are below human perception - people didn't even feel a thing.

So far, in 2020, there were three earthquakes in Zakarpattya region - on January 23, April 19 and April 28. All of these were not strong enough to damage infrastructure objects, with the magnitude of 3.0, 1.5, and 2.7, respectively.
