An airliner of a Turkish air company executed emergency landing in Odesa, while on its way from Russia to Turkey; the pilots landed the aircraft, when the staff discovered a suspiciously looking bag left in the restroom. Ruslan Forostyak, adviser of the Head of the National Police branch in Odesa region, posted this on Facebook.

‘An incident took place on board of the international passenger flight (Airbus A320), which was on its way from Domodedovo airport (Moscow) to Turkey. One of the passengers said he felt sick and locked mhimself up in the toilet. When he left, the crew thoroughly examined the restroom and found a suspiciously looking bag hidden inside. The crew decided to land on the nearest air field, which was Odesa international airport,’ Forostyak wrote. ‘The passenger left the restroom, having changed his clothes. Taking into account his suspicious behavior, the State Security Service workers detained him for further investigation, to find out his actual motives.’

The official added that K-9 experts of Ukraine’s State Border Guard ‘entered the aircraft and checked if the bag or its contents posed any threat for those onboard’.

No dangerous items or harmful substances were found.
