Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koja said the country has temporarily closed the border with the Islamic Republic of Iran due to a new type of coronavirus outbreak - Covid-19. This was reported by Anadolu.

The minister also noted that due to the outbreak of the virus, Turkey temporarily suspended all international flights from Iran unilaterally.

“In connection with the detection of this disease, at least eight Iranian citizens were not allowed to enter Turkey on Friday and Saturday,” Koja said.

Earlier it was reported that Iran ranks second in the world in the number of deaths from Covid-19, second only to the epicenter of the disease - China. The number of virus victims in Iran has reached eight people.
