NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said that Ukraine intends to build a new generation of missiles. He said this in an interview to

"We're not just trying to recover the lost technology, we want to build a rocket of new generation. For example, if we talk about the missile systems of volley fire, there are guided missiles that fall right on target and not just cover the territory as Russian analogues. Our task is not only to achieve NATO standards, but, above all, to make our weapons better than Russian", said Turchynov.

According to him, the Western partners are not yet eager to assist Ukraine in matters of military weapons, so the state defense industry has to cope with its own help.

"We set the goal for our defense industry to create a new generation of weapons. The artificial restriction of military-technical cooperation is the serious obstacle. Our partners yet want to help us in matters of armament of our army. We have to do everything ourselves, although the creation of many samples of weapons of new generation requires strong international cooperation", said Turchynov.
