Leader of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya commented on the harsh dispersal of the pensioners' march, calling it an act of violence by the regime against the most loyal electorate. The press service of Tsikhanouskaya in her Telegram channel.

“Today the regime has crossed another line: the security forces used firecrackers and tear gas against pensioners. This is an act of violence against those who for years were considered the most loyal electorate. Now it is obvious: the regime is ready to defend only itself. But we, Belarusians, are ready to defend our people, therefore we must bring the matter to the end - and achieve new elections," Tsikhanouskaya said.

According to her, when she and her team went to rallies in the cities of Belarus, she turned to pensioners. Tsikhanouskaya told them that the pension that the regime blackmails them with was not paid personally by the president. This is the money they honestly earned. And now their children and grandchildren pay for this pension.
