Law enforcers boost security measures due to mass events near Shevchenko district court

To ensure public order, additional units of the structural units of the capital police and the military of the National Guard of Ukraine are involved. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports this.

"Today, citizens gathered at a judicial institution to conduct the rally. Therefore, to ensure public safety and order, employees of the structural units of the metropolitan police and military personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine have strengthened security measures at the administrative institution," the statement said.

Security of the court, access control to the premises and law enforcement directly in the courtroom is carried out by representatives of the Judicial Protection Service in accordance with their official powers. Dialogue police officers conduct preventive measures and preventive explanatory conversations with the protesters in order to prevent any offenses.

“During such preventive measures, one of the police officers found a traumatic gun with permission to store it. In addition, it was established that he is currently in the status of a defendant for a criminal offense under Article 125 (“Intentional minor bodily injury”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Now the police are working with him and establish all the circumstances and motives for him to carry weapons during mass events," the Interior Ministry said.

On June 12, a meeting is being held in the Shevchenkivsky district court, where a measure of restraint to Odesa activist Serhiy Sternenko is being elected. People hold a rally in his support near the court building.
