Travel ban: Malta adds Ukraine to "dark red list"

Due to the epidemiological situation, the Government of Malta has included Ukraine in the "dark red list" of countries whose tourists have been banned from entering the country since Thursday. This was reported on the website of the Malta Ministry of Health. 

"Travel to and from Dark Red (Travel Ban) countries/zones is only permitted for essential travel in exceptional circumstances and only with prior authorisation in accordance with the procedure" the Ministry of Health said.

Any Ukrainians - vaccinated or unvaccinated - are prohibited from arriving in Malta from October 21 for tourism purposes. The exception will be especially special cases.

To enter Malta, in particular, you need to obtain an entry permit, provide a negative coronavirus test result, fill out a special form, and observe quarantine for 14 days.

Earlier, Malta recognized digital Ukrainian Covid certificates.

"Malta has recognized the Ukrainian digital vaccination certificates, in accordance with the EU recommendation," the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kulebar wrote.

He also added that the Foreign Ministry is working to increase the freedom and safety of travel for Ukrainians.
