Plastic transparent "masks" are not a means of personal protection, the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine stated

"For a long time, employees of service, cafes, restaurants, hotels use so-called plastic transparent protective masks. In fact, such items have nothing to do with personal protective equipment," the Ministry of Health said.

The agency noted that plastic transparent "masks" are not mentioned in any document regulating anti-epidemic rules. Instead, protective medical masks or respirators that completely cover the nose and mouth must be used.

That is, in fact, people who use such plastic "masks" do not have any effective personal protective equipment. This is due to the fact that these masks do not fit snugly to the face, and, accordingly, do not protect against infection of others and do not protect against infection of those who wear such "masks".

As it was reported, Ukraine is facing an extremely sharp increase in the incidence of Covid-19. This was announced by the chief infectious disease specialist Doctor Olha Holubovska.
