The first trailer of Ukrainian war drama about Cherkasy minesweeper appeared on Youtube.
The film is apparently the first motion picture about the Ukrainian Navy.
The movie is directed by Tymur Yashchenko.
The film is based on the real events. It tells the story of the only of thirteen Ukrainian Navy vessels that hoisted the Ukrainian flag during the capture of the peninsula by Russia in March 2014 - after the rest of them were captured by Russian servicemen.
On March 20, when Russian ground troops already captured Crimea, the-then commander of the 5th Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy, who sided with Russians, ordered the Ukrainian vessels to moor to the coast. Five ships, including Cherkasy minesweeper, gathered in the middle of Donuzlav lake to avoid capture.
The ship remained the last of the five vessels waving the Ukrainian flag after the rest were stormed and captured. On late March 25, Cherkasy was captured, too.
