Trailer of the documentary film Mustache Fank about Ukrainian pop music was published. The movie was directed by Oleksandr Kovsh.
In the late 1960s, after a period of “thaw,” musical bands began to appear in the USSR, which were intended to become the analogues of Western rock bands. They were called “vocal and instrumental ensembles.” The next decade became the “golden” era of Ukrainian pop music. The film explores the phenomenon of Ukrainian “mustache funk” which has not lost its relevance even today.
The project of the film-research was one of the winners of the State Film Agency selection and received state funding of 70,000 dollars, which is the total cost of the film production.
The release of the tape is scheduled for 2020, but the exact date is not yet available.
Earlier it was reported that a new Ukrainian cartoon Trouble Nubble Gum was selected at Europe's Cartoon Movie. Cartoon Movie will be held in Bordeaux, France, on March 3-5, 2020.
