The overall number of lethal cases from Covid-19 in Ukraine exceeded 5,000 people. The National Security and Defense Council reported that on October 12.

265,454 cases have been confirmed since the beginning of the epidemic in Ukraine. 114,410 people recovered.
France, the UK and Russia are currently leaders in terms of the daily number of new cases in Europe. Ukraine is currently seventh in Europe and 11th in the world.
Meanwhile, Kyiv, Odesa, and Mariupol are preparing to deploy additional large hospitals for patients with Covid-19 in case of an overload of hospitals in the first and second waves of the coronavirus epidemic. This was announced on Facebook by the head of the parliamentary healthcare committee, Mykhailo Radutsky.
"By order of the president, in Kyiv, Odesa, Mariupol, preparations are starting for the deployment of large infectious diseases hospitals in case of an overload of medical institutions of the first and second wave," he wrote.
In Kyiv, if necessary, the hospital will be located on the territory of the Palace of Sports.
Radutsky noted that now there is no need for additional hospitals, but the state must be prepared for the worst-case scenario. He also added that now all the necessary equipment is being purchased so that new hospitals can start working in a matter of days.
