US President Donald Trump has announced that the popular Chinese social network TikTok might be banned in the United States of America. According to Trump, there are several options. He spoke about this during a briefing in front of reporters in the courtyard of the White House, AFP news agency reports.
"We're looking at TikTok. We may be banning TikTok, we may be doing some other things, there are a couple of options. But a lot of things are happening, so we will see what happens. But we are looking at alternatives with respect to TikTok," Trump said.
The Chinese social network might be banned due to concerns about the collection and processing of personal data from TikTok users. Chinese laws oblige local companies to cooperate with China's intelligence services.
As we reported before, Amazon executives have instructed their employees to remove the TikTok application from all devices that have access to corporate mail.
