3,000 people in Ukraine’s westernmost region left without gas due to pipeline collapse

“Zakarpatgaz” undertakes maintenance

A medium-pressure gas pipeline damaged in Dubrivka village, Zakarpattia region, the incident took place on Friday on September 28, reports.  

“Zakarpatgaz” received an information about the damage of the pipeline at 8:26 p.m.

The incident took place as a result of unauthorized ground works - workers of the agricultural society damaged the medium-pressure gas pipeline, “Zakarpatgaz” added. 

As a result of the accident, 2978 people in following villages left without gas supply: Dubrivka, Liakhivtsi, Khudliovo, Andriivka, Haidosh, Kibliary, Patskaniovo, Irliava, Chabanivka, Vovkove, Chertezh, Lintsi, Serednie, and Verkhnie Solotvyno.

“Zakarpatgaz” asks to understand the temporary inconvenience and help gas plumbers to get to the gas networks the within the occurred accident. 

Reportedly, gas to Avdiivka is being supplied through the main gas pipeline Makiivka-Avdiivka. As a result of the shelling of the militants, a part of the gas pipeline was damaged in the summer of 2017. Therefore, 20 thousand residents of Avdiivka and settlements of Yasunuvata District left without the gas.
