Three people died from coronavirus in Kyiv for the first time. Yesterday, the number of infected increased up to 46 people; totally, there are 1,721 infected in the capital as 112 Ukraine TV channel reported citing Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.

“The situation with the spread of the virus is distressing. For the first time during the fight of Kyiv against the pandemic, during the past 24 hours, three lethal cases from coronavirus were spotted in the capital. Another 46 people have laboratory-confirmed infection. One medic is among them. As for today, 1,721 confirmed cases of the infection with Covid-19 spotted in the capital. 32 people died,” Klitschko said.

Thus, 18 women at the age from 26 up to 81 and three girls of two, eight and 13 years are among infected. 21 men at the age from 31 up to 79 and four boys of nine months, four, seven and nine years.

20 patients were hospitalized, while others are treated in the self-isolation under the control of doctors.

Totally, 44 patients stay in Kyiv hospitals in severe mode. Five of them are put on the artificial lung ventilators.

“During the past 24 hours, 17 people died. Totally, 127 Kyiv citizens recovered,” Klitschko.

As of May 8, the number of Covid-19 patients in Ukraine has reached 14,195. Over the last 24 hours, 504 new cases were registered. The number of fatal cases males 361. 2,706 patients recovered.
