On Friday, the United States brought charges against three young men in the case of a hacker attack on Twitter accounts of famous people, including Joe Biden, Barack Obama and Elon Musk, as CNN reports.
According to a statement by attorney David Anderson, the individuals included Mason Sheppard, a 19-year-old from the United Kingdom who went by the moniker "Chaewon" online, Nima Fazeli, a 22-year-old from Orlando, Florida who went by the alias "Rolex," as well as a minor.
The youngster was arrested Friday morning. It is believed that he was the "mastermind" of the hacking of the accounts of these celebrities.
Florida law allows more flexibility than federal law to charge a minor as an adult in such case.
According to the FBI, two people accused of cyberattacks have already been taken into custody.
As a reminder, similar messages were posted on Twitter accounts of a number of famous people in America this month, asking for donations in bitcoins to certain cryptocurrency accounts.
