In the Lviv region, three malefactors illegally seized forest lands on the territory of the Bryukhovytsia village council worth almost $728,000. The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office stated this.
"Under the procedural guidance of the Halych District Prosecutor's Office of Lviv, three persons were exposed who established a scheme of illegal alienation of forest lands (Part 3 of Article 190, Part 1 of Article 209, Part 3 of Article 358, Part 2 of Article 365-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) ", the message says.
According to the investigation, during July-August 2020, the organizer developed a mechanism for illegal seizure of forest lands on the territory of Bryukhovytsia village council. Together with the accomplice-state registrar, he issued six plots with a total area of almost 2 hectares to fictitious persons by falsifying documents and falsifying the decision of the village council. Subsequently, these plots were resold several times. One of the fictitious persons has already been identified.
According to preliminary information, the value of illegally expropriated lands is almost $728,000 (UAH 20 million).
During the searches, documents, electronic media, draft records, etc. were seized.
Currently, the organizer of the scheme is suspected of laundering of income (part 1 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the state registrar - of abuse of power or authority (part 3 of Article 365-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), residents of the region - of involvement in the order property obtained by criminal means (Part 1 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
If the law-breakers are found guilty, they face: the state registrar and residents of the region - imprisonment for a term of five to eight years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with or without confiscation of property; the organizer of the scheme - imprisonment for a term of three to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to two years with confiscation of property.
As it was reported earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation (SIB) stated that the employees of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine caught red-handed tried to smuggle 16 kg of gold, $140,000, and cigarettes at the sum of 1.5 million hryvnias ($53,550).
