The prosecutor's office in Vinnytsia region opened three criminal cases on the fact of pollution of Ros' river in central Ukraine. The authority's press secretary Iryna Vykhovanets reported that Monday, June 10.

The respective articles of the Criminal Code are the following: violation of water vessels' security, theft and theft committed by an organized gang. 

The police check if the Mercedes driven by the suspects self-ignited or someone put it on fire. So far, the suspects are at large, as they fled the scene. Besides, the investigation is seriously complicated, as the car had no license plates.

As is known, an accident occurred in the Zbarzhevka village of Vinnytsia region. During the transportation of an unknown agricultural chemical, the car fell into a tributary of the Ros River. This was announced by the Bila Tserkva mayor on Facebook.

“According to the Basin Management of Water Resources of the Middle Dnieper, this substance can reach the Bila Tserkva district in 18 hours,” the mayor said.

A meeting of the city council executive committee on technogenic-ecological safety issues and emergency situations was held. The commission has made a decision to temporarily stop the water supply from 23.00 on June 9. Since June 10, fishing, swimming and cattle grazing in the waters of the Ros River is prohibited.
