Three citizens of Russia asked to receive a refugee status in Ukraine as they are persecuted in Russia, according to the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

In particular, one of them came to the border checkpoint, and while going through border control asked for political asylum. According to him, he participated in anti-corruption, opposition protests, and now he is persecuted.

Another one also said about the necessity to run away from Russia, due to participating in anti-governmental protests, as did the third one.

In June, the State Migration Service of Ukraine informed that over 100 Russians asked for political asylum in Ukraine in a year.
