Thousands of people gathered in one of the squares of Madrid on Saturday, in order to phrase their support for the unity of Spain, as El Mundo reports.
It is noted that there were fewer people than at the alike rally of October 7, but the participants were just as determined.
They shouted slogans like “United Spain”, “For coup – to prison”. They also phrased their support to the actions of the current government as to confronting the Catalonian power, calling on them “not to be weak”.
“The Article 155, endorsed by the Senate yesterday, is not enough. It is important that the traitors are held accountable for their deeds, we demand the organizers of the coup be thrown to jail,” one of the organizers of the protests said.
As it was reported earlier, Catalonia proclaimed the independence on October 27. The Spanish government reacted using Article 155 of the Spanish Constitution, which allows to dismiss the heads of Catalonia and introduce direct governing in the region by Madrid.
