Thousands of people and eight demands - March for animal rights held in Kyiv

An action in defense of animal rights, in which several thousand people took part, was held in Kyiv. This is reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

The action began in the afternoon in the park near Taras Shevchenko University, afterwards the participants marched to the Sofia Square.

Among the slogans were: "In Ukraine 1750 animals are killed per day for the fur!", "There are 300 bears left in Ukraine", "Be their voice!", "They love us, how about us?", "Do not test my lipstick", "In favor of a circus without animals," "Your fur coat screamed before death," "The show should not go on."

On Sofiyska Square the organizers read out 8 requirements:

- Prohibition of the use of animals in circuses and dolphinariums;

- Prohibition of fur farms;

- Prohibition of contact zoos and exploitation of animals for photo services and begging;

- Development of rehabilitation of animals that have suffered from human activities;

- Prohibition of euthanasia as a method of regulating the number of homeless animals in Ukraine;

- Introduction of an effective system of control and punishment for cruelty to animals in Ukraine;

- Entering into the "Red Book of Ukraine" wild animals of the natural area of Ukraine, which are on the verge of extinction.
