One of the world's largest film festivals - One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival has announced its winners. Ukrainian movie This Rain Will Never Stop received the Best Film Award, as State Film Agency of Ukraine reports.
“A perfectly crafted story beautifully shot in black and white technique is wisely dramatically divided into nine chapters. We admired the careful, consistent, and conscious building of the characters and their stories. The film is showing excellence in all segments of film work,” the jury said in their justification.
They added that it was easy to select the winner as the best documentary represents art at its purest, which surprised the jury and stole their hearts. The jury was also extremely impressed by the talent of the young director, Alina Gorlova, and her creative team.
Meanwhile, Atlantis, the film by Ukrainian director Valentyn Vasyanovych is now available on MUBI, the international streaming platform.
According to the State Film Agency of Ukraine, this service focuses on art films and festival cinema. The full-length drama by Vasyanovych joined the collection of MUBI Releases, which includes "the most original and captivating films from programs of international festivals", personally selected by the platform's curators.
Atlantis is one of the most decorated Ukrainian films of our time. The world premier took place at Venice fim festival in 2019; the picture was showed during more than 50 film festivals all over the world.
