Prime Minister Denys Shmygal claimed that the third wave of coronavirus pandemic has begun in Ukraine. He said so during the press conference timed to the first anniversary of his government in office. Interfax-Ukraine news agency quoted him.

"One needs to state that the third wave of epidemic commenced in Ukraine", Shmygal said.

As of March 4, Ukrainian doctors detected 1,374,762 cases of infection with Covid-19 in this country. 1,186,873 people recovered, and 26,591 died of complication caused by the disease. Over the last 24 hours, 10,057 new cases were reported, and 194 patients died. Currently, three Ukrainian regions are in the red quarantine zone.

The first case of coronavirus in Ukraine was detected on March 3, 2020.

As we reported, the WHO believes that governments don't need to introduce Covid-19 vaccination passports just yet. Melita Vujinovic, the WHO representative in Russia said so as quoted by RBC news agency.

"But of course, the countries walk their own line, everybody is trying to allow considerable mobility of population", Vujnovic said.

According to her, the WHO cooperates with all countries that show interest in this initiative; the Organization will later give recommendations about what kind of information should be in these documents.
