Orzhel assured that there would be no significant gas price increase

As of January 1, 2020, the supply under special obligations is not foreseen in Ukraine. At the same time, it will be possible to technically set forward prices for the heating season.

It was stated by Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine Oleksiy Orzhel, while he was presenting the Ministry's draft project of its priorities "To do list" in "UkrHydroEnergy".

Answering the clarifying question, does this mean that prices for industry and the population will align, he answered in the affirmative form, the correspondent of reports.

He assured that there would be no significant gas price increase. According to the materials presented by the Minister, the price can be reduced by an average of 7%.

As we reported earlier, the executive director of "Naftogaz-Ukraine" Yuriy Vitrenko stated on his Facebook page that the new gas transit contract must be concluded in accordance with European rules.

"The new transit contract with an operator separated from “Naftogaz” should be concluded in accordance with European rules, and such a contract should be fair and balanced itself," he said.
