There is no information on the search for the missing citizens of Ukraine, crew members of the Bourbon Rhode lost during sinking in the Atlantic Ocean for three weeks. It was reported by Ukraine’s Ombudsperson Lyudmyla Denisova on her Facebook page.
"There is no information on the search for the injured citizens of Ukraine, the crew members of the ship Bourbon Rhode, which crashed on September 26, 2019, in the Atlantic Ocean for three weeks. Currently, there is no up-to-date information on the results of the search for six citizens of Ukraine: Andriy Izmailsky, Oleksandr Korshykov, Vyacheslav Kovalchuk, Yevgen Melgunov, Oleg Kravets, and Dmytro Kozyrev. Time is running out, and the relatives of the missing citizens of Ukraine remain without any information about their fate," Denisova wrote.
She also appealed to the management of the Maritime Rescue and Coordination Center of Fort-de-France, which coordinates the search and rescue operation to provide information on the search status of our citizens.
"I urge to continue searching for Ukrainian citizens because life and human health are the highest values!", Denisova emphasized.
As we reported earlier, Bourbon Rhode ship disappeared as a result of a storm in the Atlantic Ocean. The citizens of Ukraine were among the crew members of the vessel. The search operation continues. This was announced by Deputy Director of the MFA Consular Services Department Vasyl Kyrylych.
