On June 29, residents of Rome mark the day of apostles Peter and Paul, honored as patrons of Rome. On this occasion, Francis I delivered a speech. In it, he described the act of violence in Istanbul as ‘hideous’ (Guardian).
‘My thoughts are with the victims, their relatives and the entire Turkish people. Let us pray so that the Lord places peace in hearts of those who resorts to violence and turns them on the path of good. Let’s pray in silence’, the Pope said.
